Frequently Asked Questions

- Why is buying a storage unit better than renting?
Over the years, a storage unit renter could easily spend thousands
of dollars with no tax depreciation or appreciation benefits.
With purchasing your own storage unit, you could invest those same
dollars thus acquiring the storage space you need with the security and
features you desire, long term real estate appreciation as well as
depreciation expense for tax purposes and a monthly payment less than
what you would pay for rental fees.
Owning your own storage space enables you to overcome the difficulties
associated with owning large boats, motor homes, collectible cars,
seasonal or large recreation vehicles.

- What can I expect?
By owning your own storage unit, you are able to come and go depending
on your own schedule, 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. You are free to
custom design your very own storage space or workspace by adding shelving
and options to fit your specific needs.
- Who takes care of the maintenance, mowing, and snow removal?
The Paul Bunyan Storage Owners Association, Inc. is responsible for the grounds
upkeep, electric, security and general liability coverage so you don't
have to worry. The Association will arrange for regular grounds
maintenance and can be called for emergency services.
- Can I rent my storage unit to others or sell it?
While we hope you will be a lifetime owner, you can resell or rent your
unit. The storage unit is an investment and may be purchased on a short
or long term basis. The ownership in a storage unit provides
flexibility, freedom and a secure investment opportunity.
